Everyone wants tort reform until a hurricane strikes u again and the insurance companies tell you to geaux frick yourself.
We all saw it first hand in Mississippi during Katrina. All the big wigs and people along the beaches begged for tort reform, two years later Katrina wiped the floor with them and their insurance companies told them to pound sand. They didn’t understand it applied to them too. Ask the people in diamondhead about it sometimes.
You don’t have punitive damages so you have a lot of other favorable laws.
If you want to give you money to a bunch of New York NonChristians just give it to Goldman Sachs, they may let you keep some of it. But my mfering family fought at bull run 1 and 2 all the way to the end so we weren’t controlled by those mfering lying pos. We lost the war but that doesn’t mean we are stupid enough to vote for them. Gordon having a Jet is better for Louisiana than the Rubins having a billion dollars Bar mitzvah in NY. Suck off yankee dick somewhere else

I’ll take my chances if in the small chance something like that occurs. It isn’t an either or proposition anyway, why in the hell can other states have reasonable tort laws and Louisiana is stuck with ambulance chasers making money hand over fist for every tiny fender bender? Since you brought up storm claims though, the embellishment and outright fraud was off the charts after Ida by some.

Yea, it’s great for the businesses/economy in this state to pay obscene insurance so that gordon can plaster his mug every 50’ so the scum know who to call if they hit the fender bender lottery.

Preach.
Increasing the SOL to two years was one of the dumbest tort reforms I've ever heard of. One of the few advantages the defense bar has in this state is the laziness of most plaintiff lawyers. Their most common mistake by far is waiting too late to file suit. So we voluntarily give them another 12 months to get their act together? Only in Louisiana.

Louisiana is dying because black culture is dying. No other group promotes ghetto culture, poor white trash identity, and other destructive low class people like a trial lawyer commercial. The commercials are alarmingly feminine. Violent. Emotional.

A lot of people forget, Landry was a Democrat, that POS Cassidy was a Democrat, and Foghorn Leghorn was a Democrat. They all switched parties to run for statewide office, none of them changed their spots.

To be fair to Landry, since at least his first run for office, which was LA State Senate in 2007, he’s been a Republican. No idea before running for office.

Exactly. Its why plaintiff lawyer advertising is heavily targeted to daytime TV and public transportation. Poor, unproductive or otherwise unsuccessful people have much more incentive to sue, particularly for bullshite.

As much as I hated JBE and all his smacks, Landry is a dumpster fire.
JBE shut down Louisiana and forced detrimental learning remote for our kids and you want to bitch about the lack of tort reform?
JBE hiked our sales tax up to the highest in the country.
JBE was easily the worst governor in recent memory

How many years in a row has "reform" been passed. Insurance rates keep going up. Hey, could that mean that we're being sold a lie? Or that we should do something else since "reform" hasn't worked? Noooo, never. We just need to keep passing more and more "reform."
It's a religious belief at this point. No facts, no evidence, will convince these people.

Yes, and 2007 is the same time John Kennedy became a "Republican" as well. That wasn't that long ago and it was done out of political convenience not a change in philosophy. Those politicians could see the writing on the wall that LA was going red. Just ten years earlier Bill Clinton won the state for the second time.

And the residents are too damn stupid to realize this. Other than the stupid social shite there is zero about Landry that’s conservative and that’s an easy compromise for him…..scream about trannies and the 10 commandments, and on the hard economic stuff sit on his hands.
Socially conservative, financially liberal…..the worst possible combo.

"no conservative politicians in Louisiana?" What a wild statement.

I’m ready for the insurance industry to take some responsibility and offer some transparency.
You think these legislators aren’t hanging out with insurance executives, chamber of commerce, and LABI people?
(Not directed to gravy)

Not many, the Republican super majority sat on their hands rather than easily override JBE vetoes. They let him do anything he wanted. Lots of R’s, but few that are actually conservative.

Calling something “reform” doesn’t make it so. The legislature is stocked full of “republicans” who are ambulance chasers at their day jobs. They will never pass anything meaningful that is going to end the gravy train, and they also have a bought governor with veto power as a fail safe. The whole point is to pass meaningless measures and then scream “SeE tHE rAtEs didNT cOMe DOwN”!!
