Cut a deal with the trial lawyers so they don’t at least try to fund a “moderate” Democrat.
Actually protecting his second term. The Rs are scared to death of William Tate (President at LSU) who is everything Jeff is not. Smart, articulate, looks good in a suit and black.
Remember all the weird shite with theTiger on campus? the good ol boys trying to get Tate to make a mistake or a misstep
If the trial lawyers back Tate Jeff has a big, expensive problem..

I don’t see William Tate winning a statewide race in Louisiana, unless a shite ton of Republican/conservative voters stay home.

He polls really well with white voters, not as well with blacks who dont know who he is, yet.

Patiently waiting on one of the board's scumbag lawyers to explain how us getting fricked everytime you bump some illegal aliens $2000 work truck is a good idea.
Easiest fix is to not allow people not 100% legal to be on the road any relief. They shouldn't have been there to get hit. And if they cause an accident, garnish any wages or welfare until injured are made whole. Hit and run should be mandatory 5 years and life if you kill someone. All of this can be easily fix, ambulance chancers are the biggest obstacle.

I was skeptical until I met him in person. Dude is great and doesn’t suffer fools. I’ve seen him rightfully chew ppl out that were previously untouchable. Has the charisma of a natural leader.
He appears to be more moderate than you’d expect. Tate plays the game very well

This is one of the more retarded things that I have read in some time. Tate has zero chance of being elected Governor. The McNesse mbb student manager has better name recognition in Louisiana than Tate does.

So what Tort reform did JBE implement in his two terms?
Collateral source legislation actually reduces the size of a claim.
Two year prescriptive period does nothing but rack up pre-litigation fees. The Direct Action change also does little to nothing. I've had multiple Plaintiff attorney's consent to my Exceptions seeking dismissal of the carrier. It doesn't matter. The only time it will ever impact anything is if an auto case, between two private individuals, goes to trial. That rarely happens. Even then, at best it sways the opinion of a juror slightly in favor of the defense's argument on damages.

If you are uninsured (not unlicensed, but uninsured, as your licensure has no impact on whether or not you can be a named driver on a policy) your bodily injury claim gets reduced by $15,000.00, and your property damage claim gets reduced by $25,000.00. So if you're awarded $50,000.00 at trial, the judgment is reduced by law to $35,000.00.
That's it. There needs to be a much more significant penalty in place for uninsured motorists. I carry a $500k UM/UIM policy for this very reason. I shouldn't have to, but I do.
Someone posted in this thread that one of the proposals is to increase the no pay/no play limitation to $100,000.00, and I think that would be the most significant "tort reform" passed in LA in quite some time. I generally don't like tort reform because it doesn't do what people think it does in regards to lowering rates, but I would 100% support this legislation.

I will put trial lawyers and insurance company lobbyists in the same pot, thank you very much.

It is amazing what a good meal and a guided turkey hunt can accomplish!

Insurance companies just need a little more tort reform and the. rates will get lower
well not lower but they won’t increase
well they will still increase but they promise it won’t increase that much
well they won’t promise…
This is the 3rd stab at tort reform we’ve gone for in the last 5 years.
they’ve cut the collateral source rule to 40%
They’ve decreased the limit for jury trials
They have increased the SOL
They amended the direct action statute
They ended EBR for as proper venue for foreign insurers
well not lower but they won’t increase

Are y’all wanting to hurt LSU’s NIL ability? Why do you hate LSU?
Yes, I think all schools and teams should distance from ambulance chasers.

Sorry guys, we won’t be seeing tort reform anytime soon.
This board would start defecating on the Capital steps if the Lege shut down the NIL pipeline, resulting in LSU falling to the bottom of the SEC in all sports

The last time we got tort reform our insurance rates skyrocketed, notwithstanding promises they would drop.

Are some of you starting to understand that Landry is not a conservative?
