The article says they found him at the house, confronted him, and let him go. This doesn't sound like some stranger breaking into a house type case.

Agreed but we still don't know what he was doing there. Just assumptions.

Article is misleading. From what I've heard, he was confronted by home owner while attempting to break into the house and fled. Police caught up to him a short time later.

This is nothing new though. Until the criminal and admin investigation is complete, you can't stop paying someone.

Everything I've heard is second hand information so I don't want to spread a bunch of false information but it sounds like the officer has a drug problem.

Jeff always was a good guy.

This is pretty shocking. He has like 20 years on and will lose his pension over this.

I remember when I typed like a 13 year old girl texting her friends. Oh, wait. No I don't.

He was arrested and the story hit the news almost 24 hours ago. There have been no updates.

What are these facts of which you speak? How long will it take to get an update? I agree with you that getting the facts out there, with the quickness, quells the need for speculation and rumors.

Let's get those facts rolling.

Because of the nature of the job they have to be removed from the workforce. If you were accused of a crime you would most likely remain at your job pending the investigation as long as the investigation didn't involve your place of work. This is no different, well unless you work in an at-will state.

I may not be yet fired but if I don't show up to work, I don't get paid. It's pretty simple. You work an hour, you get paid an hour. You don't work, that's also fine, you just don't get paid.

Definitely this - my first question was why did they release him if they caught him in the act.

Mike Edmonson's reactions to a lot of officer involved situations is starting to grow stale with me.

Just because your job is shitty and they don't use some sort of due process with admin leave doesn't mean that no one else should have it.
