This is like spending $100,000 for a used 2001 Civic.

That would be an improvement. A 20 year old Civic probably works for some people. When was the last time government actually improved something that impacted you? Did you recently get a new bridge? Did your kid's public school improve? Did they build a new levee?

Government Budget in a nutshell:
Imagine you have 100 critical items that you need to buy. Each of the 100 critical items that you need costs $10. Some of these are new roads, some are schools, and others are pension obligations.

Instead of buying 100 items at $10, you decide to put $1.00 towards 10,000 items each.....none of which you actually need.

So you end up catastrophically over budget and you still have unmet needs that never seem to be addressed.

I haven't calculated from the breakdown in the last dozen pages of HB1, but a good source recently told me about 54%.

Louisiana was the first of these, how many votes do we need in this blue district to win the election...oh, this many, rigged elections..in a state wide position. They’ve got to hammer down and fundamentally change the place or it wouldn’t be worth it, outside of showing it could be done to effect a presidential election. But they’ve hammered down to change everything at that level too. If you’re going to cheat, make it count.

You bitch about it.

I bitch about it.

We all bitch about it.

We all have opinions about where to cut until they cut something we want.

So, they try and please everyone, screw the public good.

2014/15- $25.52 Billion
2015/16- $25.14 Billion
2016/17- $27.97 Billion - JBE
2017/18- $29.48 Billion
2018/19- $30.71 Billion
2019/20- $31.63 Billion
2020/21- $35.99 Billion

DOA.LA.GOV website

So basically JBE has increased the LA budget by 40% in 5 years.

The FED money is responsible for the bulk of that increase. Can't say I blame JBE for taking that money. We know its not going where it supposed to but if the FED is giving you money why not take it? Also were there any previous infrastructure projects that were neglected in previous years that came due in JBE's term? Increase in floods or other diasters?

JBE can go f*uck himself on the way he's handled the COVID stuff, but he alone doesn't make up these budgets.
