As long as he is raking it in from the legal Heroin distributing multimillionaire family in Shreveport he is doing the lord's work. The DEA was about to shut them down. Now he is flush with cash.

Who will keep children from eating all the OXY and other narcotics distributed by his sugar family in Shreveport that own the drug warehouse under DEA investigation?

I would say very small, but the most likely scenario for a full non passage would be the House amending it in a way that the Senate finds unpalatable and they throw a hissy fit and refuse to reconcile the bills. I think straight passage as is is significantly more likely than that. But I think the far more likely scenario is that it gets amended in some way and reconciled by the Senate before full passage.

Such fricking bullshite. I never was much for weed but see a lot of value in pain relief for older people. Our politicians are awful. Voting against the guy in my district if he votes for this.

In little-noticed move, state senator seeks to lift ban on casino campaign contributions. The prohibition dates to 1996 and was imposed to prevent possible corruption.

Apparently, the righteous Senator Pressly (it's for the children) isn't against all legally codified "sin" products, only those counter to his client's interest. A few gems from the Advocate, dated May 22, 2024.

"State Sen. Thomas Pressly said in an interview that he sought the change at the behest of an attorney for Penn Entertainment, a major gambling company with five riverboat casinos in Louisiana. Pressly, R-Shreveport, would not identify the attorney."

"Pressly failed to mention a 2002 Louisiana Supreme Court ruling that upheld the constitutionality of the 1996 ban on donations by casinos, their employees and the employees’ spouses."

"Pressly said later he was unaware of that ruling. He also acknowledged that no court has subsequently struck down the 1996 prohibition that he called unconstitutional."

"Pressly defended changing a law by offering an amendment that was approved after only 12 minutes of discussion. 'This is the legislative process,' he said. 'The rules allow for amendments.”

So, who's paying him to ramrod the hemp prohibition the majority of citizens on both sides of the aisle are against?

Just another slimy political grifter in the game to enrich himself. Edwin Edwards, the prime reason for the casino law, would be very proud of him.

Blame ourselves, we vote, allow and put up with this bullshite.

And that is indeed sad.

Really almost have to admire how they just put it out in the open how big of a piece of shite they are. Most of the La legislature should be tarred and feathered.
