It might be the juror who doesn't have a job like the rest of us...

It is a unique set of facts but to me it’s clear.
quote:Unless your perspective is different and you couldn’t tell he only shot one person and was no longer a threat simply because he was moving in the direction of the police. I’m not saying I think that is true, I just see where one could arguably conclude that.
It is not reasonable to believe someone is an active shooter when they shot one person, are walking to the police, and are not targeting anyone else.
quote:No, not anytime, but sometimes that’s exactly what the result could be. Two people with a reasonable belief that the other is acting improperly and an imminent threat to life. One or both may have formed a reasonable belief based on the circumstances and one or both could ultimately be wrong about the perceived threat.
If that were a “reasonable belief” then anytime one exercised their constitutional right to defend oneself with a gun it would be permissible for anyone to attack that person under the “active shooter” belief.

You better be damn confident that the person you are about to attack is either an imminent threat to yourself or others. If you’re not damn confident, then there’s a really good chance your use of force is not reasonable.
Kyle = was being directly physically attacked when he used force.
Those who attacked Kyle = were not being attacked, did not see Kyle targeting others, were guessing he was an “active shooter.”

Reasonable implies objectively reasonable. Anything can be reasonable subjectively.

Someone on Rekieta just said theres a tweet that jury is coming back with verdict within the hour.
We shall see.
Posobeic saying he hasnt heard that yet.

Place your bets boys. I'm saying not guilty all charges

God I hope so. If they convict this kid, it will make me sick to my stomach.

Unforunatey, thinking guilty on all accounts. The people that are going to convict in this trial don't give in - ever.

I'm leaning the other way. If there are ideologues on the jury, they aren't backing down.

Your posts are arguing that someone could have a reasonable belief that Kyle was an active shooter because of things they didn't see. That's bogus.

Hopefully the ones that can see he's innocent didn't either. If I'm on a jury in a case like this, I'm more likely to budge toward not guilty than guilty.
ETA: If I'm betting, I'm really betting on absolutely nothing happening in the next hour.

Am I the only one who thinks that these "leaks" that keep coming out about the jury are part of the problem?

Anyone who knows Kyle is innocent and convicts him because they’re spineless pussies deserves to be ripped apart by feral dogs.

You wouldn’t back down though, would you Roger? I think both sides are capable of being equally as passionate here.

It’s one thing to be passionate and have the facts on your side. It’s another thing to be passionate and ignore reality.
