It’s been this way long before any trans movement. And a lot of it has to do with the good ol’ boy network in a lot of these areas. My guess is the person in the OP knows someone in McCracken.

We’re not generally afraid to incarcerate someone here with I believe still Top 5 in incarcerations in the country. The problem is that the law allows child abuse offenders to plead down to a misdemeanor in these cases on a way too regular basis. There is no account for the cost that we will carry after something like this. This kid that has been assaulted will likely need years of therapy and may even end up perpetuating that cycle of abuse if someone doesn’t step in.

That’s a systemic issue that falls on the state legislature to fix. It’s absolute crickets from them though. But much like the undrinkable water in EKY, it’s not the “sexy” thing to do right now.

When a government shows repeatedly that it cannot or will not protect the citizens it serves, at some point, the citizens will begin to protect themselves. At this point, one of two things happens. A virtuous government will welcome the help and incorporate it into their efforts to provide law and order. A corrupt government will then target the citizens because it sees them as a threat to their hold on power, and a bigger threat than the actual criminals, with whom they might even be in business with.

Democrats are working OVERTIME to make sure that rapists like this have access to children....think about that.
