I've not really followed this case up until know but I do recall hearing on the news that her divorces all came before she became a Christian.

Could be, I just think her demeanor (and actions) have been ridiculous. But I agree generally that stating that your religion declares homosexuality sinful while being a sinner does not make one hypocritical.

Hypocrites for Jesus. Three marriages, children out of wedlock, and thinks she's qualified to judge others. Typical fundie.

I was on her side until I saw that yesterday.

not really

doing nothing to her would pretty much make it open season for any other person that wants to do that same as her.

she's the one wasting people's time.

Just impeach her. This is a waste of the taxpayers dime. Yeah, no way should she be allowed to keep her current job, but putting her in jail for this is just a waste of everyone's effort and time.

That's what I'm thinking would be the correct move here. Throwing her in jail seems a bit over the top. Just replace her with someone else that does not have a problem with preforming all aspects of the job.

BTW, none of this would be happening if the freaking state would just get out of the marrying business all together. Just my opinion.

I'm just glad she's too ugly for a show on Fox News.

I bet it would blow your mind to find out she's a democrat.

Yeah it does. It would send the message to anyone else wanting to make such a stand that they're free to do it, but it will cost them their job.

Oh give me a break. They could have gone to anyone else but they chose her to make a point. She didn't cause them any pain at all.

Quoting the Bible is NOT judging. It is witnessing to others and Jesus says to do this. Witnessing to others does not mean your own life is free of sin nor does it have to be to tell others about Jesus's teachings.

Get your facts straight!

Why don't you read the fricking book you live by:

Matthew 7:5 is the fifth verse of the seventh chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. This verse continues the discussion of judgmentalism.

In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads:

Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye;
and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

Yep. But you won't hear MSNBC or CNN putting that out there.

Yep, amazing that the media is leaving out that little nugget. If she identified as a republican, you know they would be shouting it from the heavens.

How so? It's a textbook case of ignoring a court-ordered constitutional mandate, punishable by... Contempt of court! She had three options:
1) Follow the mandate of Obergefell
2) Quit
3) Go to jail

Being the hypocritical attention whore she is, she chose 3. Case closed.

Just replace her

That's not how this works.

Instead they're just brand her a "conservative Christian" and allow everyone to make their own wrong assumptions.

I've already heard excuses from people that she's "an old southern democrat voted in by old southern racists" but that's not the case at all

I for one am glad she stood up for her beliefs. America is forcing people to do whatever gays and atheists want them to do. America has went to hell

It's absolutely her right to do so but it's the government's right to arrest her for not doing her job as a public servant.
