She took an oath, presumably swore to God, that she would uphold the law of the land. She broke the law, and lied to God. She's in big trouble.

she shouldnt have been worrying about money to begin with.

the article says her job is paying her $80k a year.

What I mean is she'll be getting massive donations from around the country from people who support her. She'll make $80k in a few weeks with all the support coming her way.

I don't think she will make a ton of money, not if the gays play it right.

Sue her for all the is worth. If she has to spend any donated money by paying her civil lawsuits then she isn't keeping the money AND the donations from the other bigots goes to the gays. Even better.

Wait... What?

I am saying they should sue her in civil court. She has caused them a lot of pain and suffering. People sue for far less. It would redirect any money donated to her. It may not happen that way, but it is a possibility.

Ehh, that is not how any of this works.

It is pretty simple. I've got no problem with the bakery that refused to make a cake. Private company that was railroaded IMO.

At the same time, I do have a problem with this clerk of court. Do your fricking job.

I agree with you that this lady can take her stance without being some abnormal hypocrite, but she does seem to be acting rather sanctimoniously.

Over dramatizing the whole case, this isn't just about the gay couples,

The article I read says:

Davis has refused to issue licenses to any couples, gay or straight, since the U.S. Supreme Court in June ruled that same-sex couples have the right to marry under the U.S. Constitution, citing her religious beliefs.

Another article says:

A federal judge ordered a Kentucky county clerk to jail Thursday on contempt of court charges after she repeatedly refused to grant marriage licenses of any kind following the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage.

So she isn't doing her job at all. She is just collecting a paycheck. If she can't be fired, then the impeachment process should start immediately.

I've not really followed this case up until know but I do recall hearing on the news that her divorces all came before she became a Christian.

Just impeach her. This is a waste of the taxpayers dime. Yeah, no way should she be allowed to keep her current job, but putting her in jail for this is just a waste of everyone's effort and time.
