Maybe I was not paying attention but Bacchus has a B/C list as its reigning sovreign....Robin Thicke.

Bacchus used to get top list types like
Bob Hope
Dom DeLuise
Danny Kaye
Charlton fricking Heston
The Fonz
Spartacus
Nicholas Cage

Why the lower level celebs these days?

Robin Thicke is a judge on The Masked Singer, which was huge last year. Just because you don't know the person, doesn't mean they aren't famous.

Last time I went it was Kelly Clarkson and I was pretty frickin' stoked about that.

Might have been Endymion.

They have to find someone who not only wants to ride but who also isn't booked up doing something else.

They may have been turned down by their first choices.

For instance. I would find it tough to believe that these superkrewes didn't at least inquire about Coach O or Joe Burrow but maybe they were shot down and went to Plan C.

In this case, he's mostly famous for ripping off Marvin Gaye...

Met Chuck in the breezeway at the Rivergate after his ride in 81' or 82'.
No one around but the ol girl, me, him and 2 cops trying to hold him up.
I was pretty lit up too but remember rambling about seeing him at Tulane stadium when they filmed The Pro.
All he could say was, thank you, thank you, thank you...

Things have changed. Celebrities used to want to do this and all the Krewe had to do was roll out the red carpet for the King and some friends for the weekend.

Now the A list stars want to be paid and paid handsomely. Big time money that even the largest krewes find ridiculous.
