You'd be surprised how much money can make a tragedy easier to cope with.

This is the dumbest fricking thing I ever saw posted on here... Well.. One of the dumbest.

But how do you know?

If one of your parents had to pass away for your to inherit a few million dollars, would you be less upset than if you would inherit $0? There are some things that is worth more than money.

You’ll get downvoted because you’re you, but you’re spot on.

Bryant, 41, was reportedly traveling with four others, including the pilot, in a private helicopter when it went down in Calabasas, CA. All five were confirmed dead by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department.

His wife and daughters were not on the helicopter.

That's good to know. They're in for some rough times though. It's so damn hard to process the sudden loss of a loved one.

Where's that being reported?

If we're dealing in reality here, yes, many, many people would be less upset if they inherited a few million.

Looks like you are getting downvoted for just agreeing with me...

But seriously, it blows my mind that that is the first thing that crosses people's mind. And if that is the first thing that comes to mind immediately after receiving the news a loved one died has to be psychopathic to some degree.

Sadly the little ones, 3 and 7 months, won't even remember their dad.

That's true. It will be pretty devastating for the 17 and 13 year olds. It's hard enough for regular folks. Imagine seeing this news every time you check social media or turn on a TV.

Downvotes don’t sting. Losing a legend like Kobe stings.

Fox Sports Radio cited a Florida television station reporting that Kobe children but not his wife were on the helicopter. However, unless Kobe was the pilot oh, the numbers would not match up. I certainly hope that is the case.

I saw that rumor as well. We're now up to, what, 12 people onboard?

That’s what I hate about a-hole, ignorant, selfish reporters: always trying to be the first with the big news when they have no validity to their report.

Maybe hurts different? If being totally practical a loss is a loss but having resources and support systems are helpful, even if they don’t erase the pain
