On Nov. 28, the Greenville Advocate printed its annual edition on what area kindergartners want to be when they grow up, and one child's response caught some people's attention.
Printed under Javion Davison's name in the newspaper it said "When I grow up I would like to be a robber. I will need a gun."
Javion's former caregiver said the boy got his words confused, and he meant to say hunter instead of robber.
"He said that he wanted to be a robber and he needed a gun so he could shoot squirrels and rabbits. They didn't put the rest of it in there," Jewl Tyson said. "He got robbery mixed up with hunting."
Javion's father, John Davison, said he feels the paper and school have labeled his son.
"I felt they just destroyed my baby's life by putting him into the paper as a robber and on and on in life when people happen to see my son coming as he grow, they will think that he is a robber," John Davison said.
