I wonder what the reaction is gonna be when Greenwood denies the $100K loan application of the Bank head crack kingpin with no assets in his name and zero credit history... Does the kingpin get his boys and roll up to the corporate office and scare the approval out of some poor middle manager? Are contracts gonna be put out on the families of those denying loan applications?

I don't know but I cannot wait to find out!

This isn't to say that outside capital doesn't help, but the initiative needs to come from the residents of that community. If it does not, then it's doomed from the word go.

I agree with this. The more hard work and personal investment an individual has in any project, the more commitment, time, and effort they will put into it. From personal experience, people who have nothing on the line in a business venture can do the most damage to it. The initiative should come from those communities, not be given to them. It is the same reason why many local charitable or community-based initiatives that get wrapped up with national advocate groups (like the NAACP) end up losing their way. The individuals who started it, who had a vested interest in the community are often pushed out, or their leadership roles are diminished. They lose what motivated them.

Ah, so they want to loosen up the underwriting restrictions and give out higher risk loans. Over/under 3.5 years for the bank going into receivership.

So the premise is targeting accounts based specifically on race. That's racist.

And when they go bankrupt it will be whitey's fault.

If myself and a black man walk into a bank together, I get offered a cup of coffee and the black man doesn't, an actual banking rule has been broken. That's how serious the feds take lending discrimination. The real concept is to get bleeding heart white liberals to invest their money into this bank, with the full intent of hard working black business owners having access to that operating cash. What will really happen is someone in the middle getting rich while whitey and the black business owner get screwed.

And why is that?

It seems like this bank will quickly discover that it will need to be propped up by federal funding or not be viable.

Its about to be the 50's all over again except the opposite.
Exactly what these clowns have preached against for the last 50 years, is what they want

I hate to tell you, but one of your parents took out a credit card in your name when you were 8.

My mom did this on purpose to help me build credit and have a good score out of college. I didn't know to appreciate it then but I do now.

Easier in what ways, anyone know?

Same question, what exactly are they doing to make it easier?

Exactly. The default rate will be through the roof. Of course the owners will make a lot of money and skip town while their customers will lose a shite ton
