There really is no "logical" reason to have kids beyond assuring survival of the human race. Even your one reason on your pro list doesn't pan out because I know plenty of elderly folks who are ignored or neglected by their kids.

The only reason to have kids is because you want them. That being said, anyone who approaches parenthood without any doubts or hesitation is probably a fool.

I was worried about being a good parent before our kids were born. Now that they are grown I still worry that I might not have done the best job I could. What I am sure about is that I have the privilege of knowing two of the brightest, funniest, kindest people I've ever met and the world is definitely a better place because of them. So, yes, it was worth everything on your "con" list and then some.

I recently taught my little boy how to ride a bike. Watching him pedal down the street on his own and just "get it" was one of those feelings that had me walking on a cloud for a few days. Seeing him hit a ball in coach's pitch and get safe on first was another one of those moments. Seeing both he and my daughter read and do math and answer questions correctly, etc. in school are all one of "those moments". Having quality family time together and sharing the holidays together. Family vacations. There are just lists and lists of things that happen as a family as to why you should have kids with a wife. You may think that you're mature and responsible when you get married, but you really aren't until you both have a child together. You're just an overgrown kid basically. Once you become a parent, it jumps you up a few levels in the maturity level. You have to learn on the fly what it means to be unselfish for starters.

And last, but not least, if you want our country to start speaking Spanish as the primary language - follow through with the latest trend of not having kids.

real easy to say "my life would be better without kids" until your three year old daughter hugs you around the neck for no reason and tells you she loves you

Society is thrilled you don't have kids, you would be a shitty, selfish parent.
We are all wired differently and see the world differently, just accept it and move on.

Or when they get older and you have your own personal platoon to carry out your bidding.

I have no kids and not married. My GF feels the same way. 12 years when I bought my house I was outside with the plumber doing some changes to the incoming water pipe. The neighbors came over. Introduced themselves and began to interview me. It came down to "are you married?" NO..."Do you have kids?" NO... and unbelievably I was asked "Why?" The guy had the head tilted and this crazy look on his face.. I responded "because I don't want kids". They turned around and walked off. The plumber said "What the hell was that about..That was very strange".. Needless to say they are not very friendly. People talk about women giving other women trouble for not having kids..I am here to say men are the same..Men can be little bitches too..

None of that's true, but that's the kind of brilliance I expect from Bernie supporters.

Not wanting kids is less abnormal than being a homosexual IMO

ETA- *no* less abnormal
