So, last night the city held a screening of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs in Galvez Plaza.

It rained before which put a damper on the event I'm sure, but when I walked by there was only one family watching the movie.

Who is in charge of planning something like this?

The movie started at 8:30 on a Thursday night. Summer or not, I can't see how they thought parents would want to take their kids downtown until 10:30pm when they have to work the next day.

I get they want to do something for the kids, but if they held something like this for adults with food trucks and beer vendors it'd work much better.

Why would anyone want to take their family to downtown BR after dark?

That's rolling the dice with your life.

It might have something to do with the giant ball of light known as the sun.

Ironic...or would it have to actually rain meatballs to meet the irony threshold?

what a dick. The wife and I went to the movie night a few years ago. They played talladega nights. It was alright. We bailed halfway through and got drunk at stroubes.

I don't think you understand the target demographic

Not a very good idea in the heat of summer - it's only about 105 heat index and it's still pretty hot around 8:00

It would be better to do something like this during the fall or spring like they do with Live After 5.

You gotta wonder who was in charge.

Why outside?
Have it inside.
Start early.
But who thinks the parish should be doing movie nights at all?

I think you're starting to get who the target audience is.
