Hope it clears for him. And sorry — I thought you had a girl (I just didn’t read well).

Did they have a fever prior to this? I also second the elimination diet. Have you changed anything like soaps, detergents, etc lately? Why are you sure that it's food related?

He hasn't been sick recently. Honestly this just came out of nowhere. It's scary as hell. I am thinking it's some kind of virus or something, but I am not doctor. He's 12 and has never had any issues like this. He just breaks out in massive hives over the last 2 days any time he eats.

Because he breaks out almost immediately after he eats, and not after he bathes. clothing is not making him break out either so it doesn't seem to be detergents.

It’s all of this processed food we eat. Something that looks so simple, look at the back of the label, and there are chemicals and ingredients that I can’t even pronounce.

I’m sorry to hear about this. As a father of two, I know there’s nothing worse than watching them suffer. I’d rather take a condition on myself than see them go through it. I hope things get better, soon!

Our son is allergic to dairy and eggs. Same thing, he gets terrible eczema from it. He has been the allergist several times and he is already showing signs of growing out of it. He's only 3 now. I never thought I'd be buying vegan stuff at the store

Start a food journal—write down everything that is eaten along with his response. It will help the allergist

I read that there's a link between soft drink colorings and food allergies in kids and I'm inclined to believe that it may be true. When I grew up I didn't know anyone who had food allergies. It was rare. We didn't scoff down sodas like it was water either the way kids drink them today.

Does your kid drink lots of sodas?

How long after he eats?

Like madam says, I’d start him on the elimination diet and keep a journal of what he reacts to. Rice, unseasoned chicken, keep it bland too. That should cover you until he gets into a doctor.

This happened to our son for about a week and it never came back. Could have been viral. Could be it took his system time to clear whatever he's reacting to. We never knew for sure.

Right now all eggs or egg products are a no-go. We have to clear everything from having egg protein.

They think he will grown out of it. Been a few months since we have given him egg.

We go to allergist in March where we'll do a monitored thing. We went did a test for egg allergen and it popped positive.

My kid is being deprived of my love for baked goods like donuts.

Most likely will outgrow the eggs. It's a complete bitch trying to avoid everything its in though while they can't have it.

Our Son, at 1, was given eggs and strawberries for first time while I was out of state. Wound up in ER and given epi. found out like you did he was allergic to eggs and peanuts through testing. Avoided all eggs and peanuts, he even knew very young to ask, lol.

They told us would likely outgrow eggs, did that by second yearly check-up. Told us only 15% outgrow peanut, but his reaction to testing kept dropping, so they did the challenge and the boy can have Reese's cups and uncrustables now.

Wondering if it's something like an allergic reaction to soap or something? Do you wash all your bottles and spoons in the same dish washing detergent? Just trying to think outside the box here...
