So glad I was asleep for all that you’re a frickin trooper and you need a new doctor because that sounds like torture. I hurt from reading your description.

When I was a child, the only time I ever saw my Father cry was when he had kidney stones. Really memorable in he worst way.

That's one of the problems with leaving stents in too long.

The same thing that forms stones can calcify on the stent turning them from a slick plastic tube to more like barnacles on the bottom of a boat.

Talk with your urologist about a drug called Potassium Citrate. This drug changes the pH of your urine, which reduces the formation of Kidney stones.

In 2020 I passed 17 Kidney stones between Dec 2019 and Feb 2020. None since starting Potassium Citrate.

Finally a thread where I feel like I'm a big dawg in.

I've had 25 stones total in my life. Ranging in sizes from 2mm to 40mm. I've had 4 surgeries. Everytime I've had a stent put in they attach some type of thread on the end of it where you can either remove it yourself or go to the office and let them remove it. My wife has ripped all them out in the shower. Blood goes everywhere. That first piss after the surgery feels like you are pissing fire. Sucks. I'm sure it's about time I have another one too. I usually have 2 a year. They started when I was about 29 or so. I'm 40 now. I'm gonna ask my doctor about that drug.

I’m glad you told us it sucks, I wasn’t sure before you added that.

Wife has been dealing with stones for 2 months now. We are waiting for her second procedure today at Tulane.

They found 3 stones in her uter tube between her kidney and bladder that had been there a while. 5 weeks ago they went and lasered 3 and placed a stint, going in to blast the third today.
