His previous album-To Pimp A Butterfly-should’ve won on name alone...

Dude, I think you are a bit confused. Kendrick Lamar is married to Kim and they just had a baby named North.

Illmatic is a top 5 album of all time and I won’t agree with anyone that argues it

I bet more people know Kendrick versus the previous winners.

I would say you are correct. Looking back at previous winners, the only name I recognized was Wynton Marsalis.

And while I'm not particularly a fan of rap and even less of a Kendrick Lamar fan, I can't dismiss an entire genre of music because it doesn't suit my particular tastes.

Until the National Championship Game, I had honestly never heard of Kendrick Lamar.

The 30-year-old won the prize for “DAMN.,” his raw and powerful Grammy-winning album. The Pulitzer board said Monday the album is “a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.” He will win $15,000.

It’s not a personal hatred of him, it’s his music and that genre that is laughably bad and in general is spreading a horrible message.

i'm not a fan of kendrick lamar, but how does he send a "horrible message"?

Most good art isn't exactly wholesome.

Do the real musicians that he sampled to create his "music" get a share of the prize?
