Because Keefe D was introduced & connected to Puffy by a guy named Eric "Von Zip" Martin. According to Keefe D himself, Puffy wanted the "Big CEO" & Tupac killed. Supposedly had $1 million dollar hit on the head of both. Von Zip was in Vegas that night with Foxy Brown & thought it wouldn't be a better opportunity to kill both being that Suge & Tupac had just stomped out Keefe D's nephew Orlando Anderson in the lobby of the MGM Grand. Keefe said they met with Von Zip afterwards & Zip gave him the .40 glock used in the shooting.
The morning after the shooting, Zip arranged a phone conversation between Keefe D & Puffy where asked "was that us?" Gene Deal alleges he saw the check & it was written out as a payout to start a record company. Check was given to Von Zip to drive it from NYC to Los Angeles but the check never made it. It's believed Vip who was a high roller himself, kept the check for himself. Zip had nightclub in Harlem where celebrities often hung out at called the Zip Code.
Foxy Brown has refused to talk about that night. Suge Knight refused to testify but there's stuff out there that Suge recently spoke with Las Vegas detectives saying that Keefe D was responsible but not the actual shooter. Von Zip died in August of 2012 from cancer. The other 3 with Keefe D that night in white Cadillac were murdered themselves.

Conflicting reporting here. Is he guilty of murder or orchestrating the murder? Streets already got the trigger man most likely.
The actual trigger man, his nephew, was shot and killed like 20 years ago. This guy was in the car though, so he's still every bit as guilty.

And Keefe didn’t get so much as a pair of Sean Jean draws for the murder

Matters a lot to Reggie Wright Jr, he goes free for a crime he orchestrated

Lots of people in Compton in the days after the shooting heard it was actually Big Dre & not Orlando who fired the shots because of who was sitting where & had the better shot. But Big Dre & later on Keefe D in his confession said it was Orlando that way Orlando could get credit for retaliation for when he was jumped. Only two who knows & are still alive to say who the real shooter was is Keefe D & Suge Knight. Suge isn't talking.
It was interesting in the trial that cop who rode with Tupac in the ambulance asked him who did this? And Tupac answered that his people would handle it meaning he recognized & knew who the shooter was as well as the others in the car.

He won't last long in general population. Someone will want to be the one that avenges Tupac's death. He's a dead man walking.

the irony is that tupac would'nt pursue charges against this guy. he didn't pull the trigger.

Keefe D had his home vandalized & his wife was threatened during the second week of the trial. If the Puffy stuff is true, you know who will send the hit. Keefe D has talked enough & we know a dead man can't talk. Supposedly Keefe D reached out to Puffy to get him to pay for legal representation. Puffy said no & he was stuck with a court appointed attorney. In the 90s Keefe D was pushing millions of dollars worth of dope across the U.S. yet now he couldn't even afford his own legal representation.

Good. Guy talked about it for years. Surprised there wasn’t some unknown evidence, just a guy who self-incriminated himself.
