Did basic and AIT there as well, Fall of 1990.
So you were an MP I guess? Or wasn’t the chemical school there at that time as well? They’ve shuffled bases so much since then it’s hard to remember who was where. I went to Knox in the late 80s for 19Kilo OSUT. But now tankers go to Benning ( Fort Moore now) the same as infantry guys.
And if I remember correctly, after closing Fort McClellan, they moved both the MP and Chemical schools to Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, right??

Did MP OSUT there in 1988. Not bad scenery but hard to enjoy when you are in training. Haven't been back there since then.

Yes. 95B military police. Didn’t get to see much of the base other than the range and the 10 mile hike though God knows where. It was hot as frick when we arrived in August and Cold as shite when we left in December. 1992.

Man it would be awesome to own a small base like this.
You could have sporting and entertainment events.
I loved living on base growing up.

“I can’t disclose the amount or exact location just yet, but I can confirm that he has purchased a former military base in Alabama,” Williams’ publicist, Amy Sisoyev, said in an email Thursday to AL.com.
Anyone else read this in his voice?

I did the chemical school there. Not a fan of all of the hills to run up

A lot of fort mcclellan land is now mountain longleaf wildlife refuge and it's really beautiful land around there. I have driven around and hiked around there a good bit, and I've always thought that it'd be an interesting setting for a horror or Sci fi movie. It's kind of erie around there for reasons I can't really explain. Pretty cool.
I've seen that area called " The Skeleton Mountains" on maps before.

Surprised he never got blowback for false valor...
He was the one claiming he joined the Marines, but they kicked him out...

Also, redeveloping a military base ends up costing at least 10x what you pay for it.

That’s before you even dig in to build the stages. Guess what: the military buries everything, including ammo.
Lord help him if there is any sort of historic preservation society.

I did not know you could buy a military base for $1.6 million.
Oh yeah, I do it all the time.
