Just when the economy was starting to re-open

We have widespread vandalism and looting. A lot of small businesses are going to go under from this leading to even more unemployment.
Posted on 5/31/20 at 5:03 pm to yaboidarrell
And the morons on the left think this is going to make more people vote for them. Liberal logic is a mental illness.

Not making light of the situation, but they’ll all collect on insurance. Contrary to the popular belief commercial business insurance policy wordings does cover strikes, riots and civil commotions.

It’s like tying an anchor around the neck of a drowning man

That’s a really stupid take
Many small business owners will not reopen
This leads to less jobs
This leads to empty store fronts
Just because insurance will repair / rebuild a building doesn’t make it ok

And their rates will stay the same after they pay out? We all pay for this shite...

In those parts of town most of these looted shops were drug fronts. They'll be fine.

This shite keeps getting repeated. First off civil unrest is often excluded. Second, you dumb fricks are assuming everyone has insurance. You’re what’s wrong with the current situation. It’s okay because they have insurance? Do me a favor, burn your house down and tell yourself it’s okay because you have insurance!

Actually the reverse. Currently the businesses aren’t able to collect because for the most part they didn’t have coverage for loss of income because of the shutdowns. Now there’s a physical damage to the property they’ll collect lost income.
But downvote away.

I get what you are saying but acting like that makes any of this ok is fricking stupid
Do you realize that all these insurance pay outs affect the rest of us?
Do you realize the taxes the rest of us will pay to replace police cars, city workers for clean up, overtime?

And their insurance rates will go up (if they are lucky.) Some insurance companies have clauses for "acts of god" and "civil distress". With businesses already teetering this will be the straw that breaks their backs. LA was ridiculous last night but at least they got smart and targeted the chains/malls/rich areas rather than black owned businesses in Compton.

Not every business owner has a policy that covers it. Some companies exclude. Some businesses only have a GL policy, some don’t have coverage for personal contents, some may be tenants and the owners don’t have adequate coverage on the building. Your take is idiotic to just assume oh well insurance will pay out.

Very short sighted theories there dummy

They'll be spending those insurance checks and the economy will rebound even faster.

How long does it take to rebuild a building to employ these people, you stupid frick?

Have you ever had to deal with insurance making a large claim?
My mom waited almost 6 months before she got the funding from AllState to tear down/rebuild her house after a fire.
Having insurance makes 0 of it ok. And the back and forth some of those businesses will face will make many close.

Dealing with insurance companies is not always an ideal situation.
People are still likely going to get screwed and may not recover.
