would rather them rot in hotel than on streets

Cleaning hotel after those people are in there is going to be an enormous bill.
Going to have to replace carpet, furniture, pipes(they're gonna put all kinds of stuff down toilet).

Homeless encampment much easier to clean.
Gimme a few baws with reasonable ppe, a few dumpsters, pressure washers.

I know the hotel industry is taking a big hit now, but nobody associated with the hotel is happy about this I can guarantee. Having working in the hotel industry for over a decade, there is not one good aspect that will come from this. When they move out, the hotel will be trashed more than a cleaning can cure. Major $$$ going to be spent on remodeling/replacing hotel rooms.

I’m a Hilton guy when I travel. This particular hotel is a go to when we spend time in NOLA for work or play, due to value and location.

Looks like I’ll be re-evaluating some things.

Lots more homeless will need housing if this is the plan. I wonder how many other hotels will take this deal?

is there some kind of homeless network where these folks can contact the homeless in other areas and tell them to come get a room?

I eagerly await the Trip Advisor comments a week from now. Bumfromskidrow posted: "The pool and breakfast buffet were nice. But I give it only three stars because the bed bugs that accompanied me to the hotel were not made to feel welcome."
