By lowering the flagging of currency transactions from 10k to $600, they will easily be able to go after small business owners, contractors, etc.

As the old saying goes - Democrats create the shitty programs, Republicans just want the controls for a few years. No programs or departments are ever repealed or ended in DC. Even Reagan didn't end Carter's Dept of Education, which is 100% unconstitutional.

Most small business owners are conservatives thus liberals want to weaponize the IRS to punish them

I don't like this shite either, but Biden signed the Bill like 3 days ago and the IRS funding is over a decade. They didn't hire up 87k people and release these videos in 3 days.

Thrse videos are propaganda, and thats not good for anyone

Mingo is right, but don't let that interfere with the current hysteria.

The timing of the raid on Trump's place seems awfully suspicious.

IMO, they are trying to scare the population into doing their taxes and paying up. This is in response to more and more Americans saying, "frick it, I'm not filing taxes anymore."

Remember, paying federal income tax is voluntary. The fact that they've convinced Americans to comply, as their patriotic duty, is why it has become mandatory in the minds of most.

Given the raid on Trump's place and the attention being given to the increase in IRS agents, this appears to be a scare tactic. Oh, there will be a handful of high profile arrests on landscapers and Joe Sixpack to make the rest of the sheep fall in line.

Establishment Republicans are the "dont rock the boat" types.

Democrats are the "burn it all down and built it in our image" types.

Pick your poison. I can't recommend either.

I have worked with the IRS for 25 years and I've never seen anything approaching this and I find it hard to believe this is real based on past experience. Are there a few heavy handed agents? Yes, but they tend to wash out pretty fast because it doesn't really benefit anyone. If I start seeing this kind of enforcement I'll believe this stuff is real, but like 90% of the stuff posted on the OT this smells like a huge pile of horseshite.

And Trump expanded and extended government surveillance on the American people.

The IRS should not wield weapons. They should subcontract arrests to police officers. The IRS agents aren’t trained to the level of police officers and will likely fudge the arrests and end up killing people

Also yes this is the new middle class terrorism division of the govt

Kind of crazy they've been carrying weapons for years and we don't hear about this since you are so sure it's going to happen.

Two federal investigations in the past decade found that IRS agents had not been sufficiently trained and were accident-prone with the weapons they have. Armed IRS raids on nonviolent taxpayers surfaced as a concern almost 25 years ago during a Senate hearing.

As of two years ago, the IRS had an arsenal of 4,600 guns, reported OpenTheBooks, a government watchdog group.

So even if only 10% of the new agents get guns, they’d triple their number of guns. The reason we don’t have incidents is that there are so few weapon carrying IRS agents and they are very very rarely used for arrests. These hiring increases are aimed at increasing IRS arrests
quote:

However, IRS agents assigned to the Criminal Investigation division regularly failed to stay up to date with training or to report incidents of improper firearms use, according to a 2018 report from the Treasury Department’s inspector general for tax administration.

I don't think they should need guns either, but you acting like they're going to be executing small business owners is just as absurd
