I have had respiratory issues since before covid. I am not going to take the chances right now. I will sometimes explain why , if the other person isn’t a smartass about it.

Nothing to do with Covid, but shaking hands is kind of gross in general. Also many people either have an awkward complete limp shake or overcompensate and grip super firmly. Nothing wrong with this tradition going away.

Covid was just an excuse for people to get weird about stuff like shaking hands. I attribute a lot of this to the great un-socialized technology addicts that socialize through their cell phones rather than personal interaction anyway.

Shaking hands isn’t weird. It’s been done by men forever as a greeting. What’s weird and new on the scene is the apprehension to shaking hands like normal people. That’s weird.
