I passed a Ford dealership today. The lots are almost full with trucks, including the Lightning. Life is getting back to normal.

Yea, I think anyone wanting to buy a vehicle should wait about 6-8 months if they can, especially if in the market for a truck. I think prices are going to come down dramatically in the coming months.

My original ordered truck is 420 days in as of today. It's built and shipped to the yard but I am currently awaiting dealer delivery. I definitely will be accepting it when it arrives regardless of gas prices.

And the market has been improving pretty steadily since peak 2021. It wasn't linear but for the most part waiting 6-8 months was probably the smart move the past two years.

A guy I work with just bought a new 2022 Dodge for $20k off $83 sticker price and they gave him $5k over blue book on his trade in. Got it for 1/2 of the sticker price.

Heck I got a great deal.
Went to the lot to get an F150 XL.

They showed me that I was getting a deal at $10,000 off retail. Retail was $20k over sticker. Lol!

Then they brought me into the finance dept.
They added all the bells and whistles like window etching, gap, accidental death, tire replacement, and pleather or vinyl seat insurance incase they get dirty.

Then they gave me a rate of 19.9999% for 240 months.

I felt like a winner on this deal as everyone was smiling and happy once I signed the papers.

Those folks you know are idiots if they've been saying this for 2 years. Also, I hope you don't take any advice from those people, especially if financial.

I’m certainly not buying new for another 10-15 years. I could, but I won’t

At current price trajectories I'm not sure I'll buy a new vehicle again.
