Yes, this is a slight brag, so I do apologize for that.

I’ve been working to break into this field since I moved here more than 6 years ago. Tonight is the night it finally happened. Not that I hated the work I was doing in the interim, but it wasn’t my true passion.

Moral of the story, baws: If you have a career path you truly want to follow, don’t quit.

Time to celebrate.

ETA: I wish it was a fry cook position, but I’m not that lucky. Yet.

You’re a taster at Sam Adams now?

That was Norm’s dream job.

Congrats!

Ok, your post is a little cryptic though I get the gist. But give me a little more info on what you did and what you do now. But like the others who have posted, congratulations!!!

I’ve been working in fundraising for NPOs, now will be working for a public policy firm primarily representing a new and lucrative industry here.

FWIW, I will be low man on the totem pole. I am not claiming to be a big shot in any way, shape, or form. But I’m going to love this work.

You should stay as the dishwasher. Lots more freedom than the fry cook.

I hope one of them works out. But if not, keep pushing. Can’t tell you how many times I wanted to give up on it over the last 6 years, but in this moment it was all worth it.
