Just hired a very talented and capable Person with the Muslim beard

I did not expect this. I just hired a very nice and talented young man who looks like a Muslim with the big beard and all that.
Since hiring him, I have had 9 complaints that they did not want this installer in their house.
The thing is.. he is not Muslim at all... He just has a big beard, but he is so good at what he does.
What should I do?

Talk to him, tell him the truth. Ask him if he wants to change his appearance. Ask about his behavior. Does he do anything that makes people worried? I'm guessing the answer to that is no, but never hurts. I would guess he'll appreciate you being honest rather than one day just having to fire him and then explain it to him at that time.

If he busts his butt and is a good employee do the right thing and take up for him. It's not his fault the customers are first class idiots.

Reminds me of an incident about a year ago. I live in a very conservative place. Very very few black people. Even among construction workers/house workers, etc.
We were having work done on our house. Two of the workers were black. I wake up one day to the sound of a siren. I go outside. My next door neighbor had called the cops because "black people were breaking into" my house. I was so fricking pissed.
