Been awhile since I've worked in BR so maybe I'm wrong on that point but I know our stores do. Wouldn't surprise me if they let the dives slip through the cracks.

Ivar's is about the only bar where Walkon's would be considered an upgrade

It has been pretty empty at night this year. No idea why, but it has. I normally start there and end up at ZZ's eventually. I used to get pissed at my tab, but I quit looking at my bill and have been happy ever since

Some of the bartenders make my drinks how I like them, and they are worth the $14

I guess that's a weird and terrible way to justify their prices

If any of the people reading this thread have been bartenders at ivars for anytime during the past five years, kindly suck my fat dick

A Walk-ons type bar there would be horrible. It would attract too many visitors to an area that already struggles accommodating the amount of vehicles that are in the area on weekends and nights.

I dunno. There's a couple of free parking lots that are always empty when I go downtown on the weekends.

Plus uber is a solution for that when it picks up

(Got my uber reference in for the day)

Can someone give me cliffs on why this board hates Walkons?

Haven't been there in years and never thought it was that bad. Never thought it was great, but never found it terrible.

Obviously, I'd love to see the guy just improve the place or sell it to someone who would.

This is what I expected but I wouldn't be surprised if the walkons people dumped money on him for the spot. They are dying to get in the area. Hope it goes to someone else.

I hear a change in ownership of the bar is coming, but the group is not last in concepts/ walk ones. That was in the last week, something may have changed and lastin may be trying to get their hands on it, but I talked to the group negotiating it when they were looking for some private equity. No telling what will happen, lastin has a shitpile of money to throw around, I'm sure they could push out the guys I talked to. It will be interesting to see what happens. FWIW, the building is not part of the deal, the building is leased and owners don't want to sell

Is it thinking about becoming a small music venue? Mud & Water was looking to find a place in that area

They would actually be a step up from Ivar's.

How sad but true. Walk-Ons would definitely improve Ivar's.

No, no it wouldn't. They just need actual management and they will continue to make money. The bar doesn't need to be overhauled
