Tether and ad blocking are nice features of root. Backups are nice, quick settings customization is nice

Do any of y'all have trouble with people receiving Picture texts when using textra? Sometimes I'll have friends get a picture or text at 2am from me when it was sent at 8pm or so.

Robird

What do you find better about this? I have used the official client and never had issues, but I only subscribe and read others stuff. I never send anything out myself so that may be why I haven't had problems

Admittedly I haven't used the official one in a while, but my requirements are 1) doesn't crash often, 2) doesn't skip huge swaths of tweets, 3) shows me the number of new tweets at the top, and 4) lets me jump to the top somehow.

There are a lot that do most of this, but something gets messed up. I've also run into applications that didn't process links correctly, etc.

The official client may do this now, but I abandoned it back when it didn't. Tweetbot for iOS is still the standard and nothing on Android is really that close. Robird is pretty good, though. I actually used it and got rid of it last year, but went back to it after they overhauled the UI in January.

I don't know what the hell rooting means

Root that bitch hendo! HTC One rooted, s-off, superCID, tampered removed, red developer warning on boot removed. Running Viper 5.0 kitkat 4.4.2 with ElementalX kernel.I know you have no idea what any of this means, but XDA developers forum can get you there.

Does textra work well with group texts?

Yes, although you may have to enable it in the app settings.

Hangouts worked fine for me for 2-3 months then wouldn't quit crashing for two days straight so now I use textra.

I haven't had any problems with hangouts yet so I'm sticking with it for now. You have the Nexus 5?

Anything not mentioned here that I should get or know about this phone? I'm mostly just surprised by how fast it is.

not that i can think of

i mostly use yelp, pandora, twitter, Gas buddy is cool. Camscanner lets you take a picture of anything and email it as a pdf. I use zedge ringtones and weather underground for weather. I had the weather channel one but i went out of town and it started giving me like 4 different tempature icons at the top.

I just downloaded like 5 of those ones stout put up.

probably just to take the notifications off gmail if you dont want them. I also set up my work email under the regular email app. Took me a minute to figure that out and to turn those notifications off when i dont want them either.

I think it is missing that "hook" that allow it to tie in to Tapatalk. Most of the boards that use Tapatalk are out of the can variety like Proboards or ipBoard or something like that where the connection to Tapatalk is built in. Since TD is a custom asp.net board Chicken or Circus Child or whoever would have to create that "hook" to make the connection to Tapatalk.

Not positive but if I had to guess this is why.

I installed the Accuweather one. I just get gmail messages for my work email so I'm fine with that.
