Don't you have a criminal record? And haven't you said that you'd sit in your car during lunch sometimes and want to pull your gun out and shoot yourself? Maybe law enforcement and the military aren't the answers right now for you or us.

I didn't even say anything bad. I said something like "ok, what exactly would you like to hear me say" and my post was deleted within 30 seconds. Then capwood makes a post telling the guy to frick off and calling him a pos and that post stays up for 5 hrs. I really don't understand how admins go about deleting some posts and not others.

Does anyone have any experience with Jacobs Field Services? Looks like if I get the job (fingers crossed), then I'll start as a 'laborer' at a plant here near BR. Any idea what that will entail? Regardless, I'm praying just for an opportunity and hoping like hell that it opens up for me.

As a laborer, your duties can range from a whole wide variety, but primarily it would be civil-meaning concrete pours, helping with formwork, and excavation/backfill tasks. Different diciplines may use laborers for clean up duties

Thanks, doesn't sound very glamorous but it sure beats sitting around the house watching the bills pile up. Thank you very much for the info.

Certain administration can hold grudges against popular posters like you and me.

no doubt, but we all including myself have probably given them good reason to feel that way...i just accept whatever they do to me without complaining and hope that they don't ban me.

My cousin started as a laborer with CB&I about 3 months ago. She was cleaning bathrooms and emptying trash cans around the job site. She just "promoted" to a pipefitter helper. She's working nights to support 2 kids and her husband while he finishes up Mech. Engineering degree.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll have some dues to pay but at least the opportunity for advancement is there. At this point, I'm just thankful and hopeful that this opportunity comes to be.

My job will be open in about 2 weeks. You can have it. Good hours, decent pay, pretty easy and very laid back. Plus you can flirt with nurses all day. Can't bang them though, only the doctors get to do that.

I'm guessing the job is in Austin, huh? That's gonna be a hell of a commute.
