I had a tenant send “me” a month rent plus deposit. Went to wrong person w same name. She fortunately got it fixed immediately by calling Venmo.

I use Venmo to pay hookers and for coke. It's untraceable.
Lol no. IRS is even on venmo now.
Fun story:
My hispanic maid who I'm not sure knows 20 words of English and is likely not quote unquote "legal", told me I can't pay her on Venmo anymore because of Joe Biden. Cracked me up.

Pretty shitty on your part to keep the $52 and not send it back.
A quick Google search shows Venmo’s simple instructions on how to request a refund that would not involve the recipient at all.
The scenario had a lot of fraud red flags. The money came from a business account but a person claimed it was the last $52 he had. He was using his last $52 to buy beer? He used my first name in the voicemail but I had no idea who it was. He never tried to contact me again even though he made it seem urgent on the voicemail. Etc.

Yea. I just got two emails saying Venmo is returning the $180 to the sender.

Just send me your credit card number, expiration, ccv, full name, and zip and I’ll get all this sorted out free of charge. I do charity work on the side. No biggie.

You don't have a venmo account but someone sent you $180 to it? How can something be sent to something that doesn't exist?
If it was in an email do you really have to ask what's the catch?

If you've never opened a Venmo account, then how did you get money sent to your Venmo?

I get stuff all the time like everyone else that is suspicious. Delete first time, delete and block 2nd time.
Certainly aware of Venmo and how it works. My wife (no pics) uses it from time to time.
Figured somebody on here would say that the same thing happened to them but so far, no one has had this happen. At least with Venmo.

In my case, my aunt’s Venmo told her I had one. She must have misunderstood. So I set it up with my contact info and there the money was. It was legit bc she texted and my kids that she’d sent Xmas gift money. I think I’ve only sent money 2x on it since then as I don’t care to use it. I prefer zelle.
