Assuming you’re in GA, this means she’s actually a gifted student. Public schools there are actually worth something.
Yep. Schools here have improved a good bit the last 20 years.

Who knows the little girls circumstances? This might be a monumental achievement for her.
We adopted her at 13 days old. She is our world.
She has always been very smart. Very creative. Draws beautiful pictures.

That's a scam. You may want to look into that further.

How much did you pay to have her tested?
Sounds like you got what you paid for
Congrats on nothing that matters

i think first grade is too young for gifted to start. things have surely changed.
I started in 2nd after being tested in first. It's primarily an IQ test at that age.

Nothing. It's a public school program.

LA actually has somewhat stringent standards

I still vaguely remember my testing. It was intense. I had the whole psychologist-given IQ test and everything (because at that time I was in private school)

If it's anything like my kid's gifted program in Hoover, AL, you're going to be disappointed. They don't really do programs for "gifted" kids anymore. It's just a "smart kids day out" now. It's boring for kids who are actually gifted.
ETA: We we're going to pull her out of it in 5th grade because it just wasn't providing her any kind of interest (she was just happy to be out of regular class for a few extra hours a week), but then they got a new teacher and it was more engaging for her during her final semester of the program.
