Uh, you're supposed to be a family. She's not allowed to propose that shite (nor are you) without discussing it with the partner first. You're screwed this year (even though we're four months out) but if you don't stop this, it will end in divorce or stroke. Good luck. This is going to end up not well.
I mean really, adding EIGHT f*@#ing people that are staying with you? Jesus dude, that's completely disrespectful. If an extra two were staying, and you needed to buy one more turkey, but sleeping overnight, for multiple days. Baw.
I think your plan is right. Leave, come back on Sunday, when she's got the f@*&%$ mess cleaned up, she's gone to get all the wine, etc. Teach her a lesson. If my ex-wife pulled this I would have divorced her earlier.
