Had a friend just had his brain tumor operated on a few months ago. It was glio. They couldn't get it all because of how close it was to vital shite in his head, so they did chemo/radiation. He'll have to live with it the rest of his life, but is doing fine without any treatment. Will have to have it looked at every so often to see if it grows. Had seizures, past out and what not was his symptoms. My father died from brain tumor but this was way before the technology caught up with that shite. Probably would of survived today. Good luck.

A good friend of mine (in his 30s with a wife and two young kids) was diagnosed with a large brain tumor and was given less than a year to live, and was initially told it was inoperable.
They were able to get a second opinion from Duke, and they did the surgery.
It's been about five years since his initial surgery and all things considered he is doing well. He has to take lots of medication, but he is still going strong.
PM me if you would like me to connect you with him.

yes, and recently, do they have any other additional info other than it's a tumor?

that's awful, best of luck, my son had a dermoid cyst removed from his brain earlier this year, the cyst itself was not the major issue, the trauma of the surgery was, no other way to get to it, also, because of where it was located the doc was unable to remove all of the membrane that contained it due to risk of death/paralysis, consequently he is looking at the possibility of it regenerating periodically for the rest of his life

Just found out I’ve got a large brain tumor today. The tech let me see it on his screen and it’s not good. The neurosurgeon will be around to talk options in the am. Anyone have any experience with such. TIA
as others have stated, my dad started experiencing daily headaches which went on for a couple of months. We went to Disney World as a family the week before Christmas that year, and he seemed ok the first day. That night and into the morning, he couldn't get out of bed, and my mom drove him the 6 hours back home and straight to the hospital. The tumor had grown to the size of a softball and he had it removed the next day. Apparently he only had another day or two to live if we had not gotten him to the hospital when we did.
He spent one day recovering in the hospital and was home by Christmas Eve.
It definitely depends on where the tumor is located. they "easily" removed his because it was in an accessible area where it could be removed without much risk of harming the brain.
in the end, the brain tumor didn't kill him, it was the cancers in other parts of his body that did. Depending on the type of cancer cells that they find in your tumor, you should be insistent on ensuring that it is not elsewhere in your body. Between the doctors and insurance companies, it can be difficult sometimes to get approval for a full body scan, but it is for your own good.

Best thoughts to you and yours. Maybe it’s “just” a benign tumor that can get taken out without any cancer.

I can recommend a neurosurgeon if you go there

These things often come out of nowhere. In the spring of 2017 I was experiencing some ringing in my ear. After a few different treatments, nothing improved. Got an MRI and discovered a golf ball sized tumor along with a baseball sized cyst in my skull. I actually don't have a frontal lobe haha. They said the rest of my brain has compensated, although I'm sure there are some of my former teachers out there who might respectfully disagree haha. I was scared shitless. Last fall I underwent three brain surgeries. Now I've got the keystone pipeline running out of my skull and into my stomach to drain the cyst and they successfully cut out the tumor (which was wrapped around a cluster of pretty important nerves).
The people saying that medicine has come a long way are spot on. All of this was done in louisiana by ochsner (who btw has a top 10 nationally recognized neurosurgery dept). All said and done, I lost 50% of my hearing and gained a couple of gnarly scars. Hang in there brother. Surround yourself with positivity. That goes a long way. Feel free to pick my brain (pun intended) if you want to talk.

If it happens to be something high grade, I would be going to one of the big centers for treatment like MD Anderson. Personally that is where I would be heading. There have much more advanced technology and treatment options then any place in the state.
FWIW I am well versed in this type of situation.

My father. They removed it once and it grew back. It damaged an eye so they removed the eye and left it there.
That was 20 years ago. He's still here.
You don't know until they test it. Think positive man good luck
