Then why do we have dozens of tanning salons and no Skin Whitening salons?
Don't they make a spray/rub-on skin bleach. Rent in areas where most of your clientele reside would be pretty dang cheap.

It's analogous of "redneck" here. Ie dark skin means you work outside in the fields, light skin means you are successful and make a lot of money. Same thing in Cambodia.
In ancient Egypt, love handles and man boobs were considered sexy because it meant you were rich enough to be well-fed.
It's not racial. It's just a cultural standard.
