Lost mine on Easter. Man, I wish I had comfort for you.

It's nearly as hard today for me as it was then. I am not "over it". I do not want another dog. I blame myself, I blame LSU VetMet (they did a surgery she didn't go in for but that I approved that her body couldn't handle -- I don't actually blame them), all of it.

Only suggestion is to change your background on your phone to one that rotates through photos and set it to only display "pets" from your camera roll. I've found a lot of good old pics that way.

Quick prayer request as I try to get through this first night without my best friend of 14 great years. The pain of his toys being here but not him has given me a inconsolable heartbreak

It’s gonna be ok. Lost my best buddy a month after IDA. A tree fell through my house and destroyed everything. It was very hard… best of luck.

If this was on the Kill Tony thread on the M/TV Board I would give you an UPVOTE...but as my cat lays on me as I type...someone just lost their pet/best friend.

I am gonna lose it when my Lolo dies...she loves me more than my Dad!

Just sent one up for you

I remember breaking down eating French fries right after mine died because I’d always bite them in half and share them with him.

I’m sorry for your loss. They never live as long as we want them to, but they make the most of the time that they had.

Yep.. i left my dog’s bed , food bowls etc out for several weeks/months after he passed.. just couldn’t accept the finality that he wasn’t going to need a place to sleep, water to drink etc anymore…everyone grieves in different ways, take your time.. One thing they don’t prepare you for is after we put him to sleep, fortunately i was there with him at the very end but then walking out of the animal hospital without him coming with me- and only his harness and leash in my hands to remind me of him….. That was a terrible feeling, but as mentioned the more you miss them, the more loved they were in their lifetime .

So sorry to hear this. I feel your pain.
We are still in mourning 3 years after losing our Gracie Girl.
We can't bring ourselves to get another dog yet we still go on dog-walks thinking about her......

True, but i can definitely say that the 15 yrs i had with my boy were some of the very best years of my life, before i had to make the decision to say goodbye to him recently

I’m sorry for your loss as well

I lost my girl in October
While it’s better sometimes it hits me out of nowhere & it’s like I just lost her all over again

As a last note in here, I want to thank all you fellas for your kind words. I’ve had plenty of loss in my life, including my beloved grandmother and my father the past decade. Both times I lost them, I found comfort in coming on here and talking about it while my buddy laid next to me. Essentially my Tigerdroppings posting companion throughout high school and my 5 years at LSU. It’s hard even being on here without him by my side.

I’ve read all your words of comfort, and I’m glad I’m not alone. Different political views sometimes and different rooting interests on here, but all the shared same unconditional love for our pets

Rest in peace my good boy Koby

Ours spent the weekend at the vet on ivs to get her pancrease and blood sugar under control. Yesterday the vet had mostly positive news and felt she could come home today.

This morning she called and Teagans kidneys had begun to shut down, and her blood work showed elevated enzymes related to kidneys, liver and pancreas. The vet suspected cancer, and we knew it was time.

Held her head in my handa telling her how good she was when she passed. This it my first dog i have had and lost, and im absolutely gutted.
