I’ve been watching the news sites… they all hyped up the Juneteenth events. I wondered if they’d report shenanigans… well, they did.

How’d y’all’s celebrations go?

Hey… what did you gift for Father’s Day? I think it was you that said you’d share afterwards, didn’t want your surprise getting spoiled…

One of our greatest urban poets (Coolio) said it best:

I keep on searchin' and I keep on lookin'
But [brothas] are the same from Watts to Brooklyn
I try to keep my faith in my people
But sometimes my people be acting like they evil

A shelf for all of MrGRT’s rum, a Hawaiian shirt, a tiki mug, and a bottle of rum

I also made chicken Parmesan, bread sticks and tiramisu.

We celebrated last night bc our oldest was still in town

he did - kids teased him about being gay

Which was sort of ironic but we had a good time

How did your hubby like the meat package?

Very happy with it- it had all kinds of different ones and he loves that stuff! We celebrated yesterday too because that’s the only day our daughter and her husband come down. Her hubby’s dad lives less than a mile from us so we made an all together day of it- it was fun!

Teen takeover’s. Would have never been a thing in the 80’s / 90’s. We would’ve gotten our a$$es handed to us by our parents.

Columbia SC is that LAST place you ever want to be when it comes to Juneteenth and other non-white parties. You’d be safer in the jungles of Vietnam in the 60’s and 70’s.

To be historically more accurate, I celebrated the 2028 edition of this observed holiday.

Yeah, I was gonna go down to the Farmer’s Market in Cola but changed my mind when I saw the festivities for Saturday.
