Have you worked with H1Bs? Other than doctors, those are the best India have to offer. Who do you think is doing ground work at Indian airports, maintaining their railways, etc.? People too incapable to be H1Bs, and that's a pretty damn low bar.

Seeing comments from pilots that these switches would not be toggled on accident that it would be intentional. Could possibly be another pilot suicide.

that's kinda been swept under the rug by the YT commenters that I see,
but it's more plausible than bad fuel, I think. Birds were ruled out. bad fuel would affect more than one plane, wouldn't it? supposedly you can't take off in the 787 with incorrect flaps.

I had a Qatar flight that was 99.9% Indian into Houston (I was the .1%). I lost track of the number of times I watched someone open the bathroom door with someone on the pot. They seriously don’t know how bathroom door locks work. I have Indian fatigue to this day.
ETA - All walking around barefoot with their nasty toe rings to boot.

If you're the pilot why would you need to mess with the fuel switches when you could just nosedive the plane into the ground whenever you wanted?
And I thought they said the voice recorder had audio of them yelling about no power. If it was intentional they wouldn't be yelling because they would know there wasn't any power as they (or one of them) had intentionally flipped the fuel switches.

I’m done with India. I’m never going back. These last 2 weeks broke me. They took us up to Shimla for the weekend and neglected to tell us it’s a 10 hour drive each way. I don’t have enough words to describe how awful it was. Then I got the pleasure of flying air India on a domestic flight to and from Chennai. Just terrible.

That’s pretty much my issue with the suicide theory. Doesn’t seem like those circumstances would offer much of a guarantee for a quick and painless death.

It would only take one pilot to pull it off and he’d be trying to be secretive about it so wouldn’t matter if they were both heard or just one of them. Not sure if it would produce an alarm that’s immediately noticeable. You’d think it would be.

Preliminary Report | Accident involving Air India’s B787-8 aircraft bearing registration VT-ANB at Ahmedabad on 12 June 2025.
REPORT KEY FINDINGS : ??
1. Both engines mid-air ceased functioning seconds post takeoff as fueling mechanisms switched from RUN to CUTOFF sequentially.
2. In the cockpit audio, one voice asking “why did you cutoff” gets an answer of “I didn’t” from the other pilot.
3. Permanent power loss was indicated by RAT (Ram Air Turbine) deployment which was also captured on CCTV.
4. Attempting to relight the engines showed partial recovery in Engine 1 while Engine 2 was incapable of sustaining any recovery.
5. The aircraft was airborne a total of 32 seconds before crashing into a hostel 0.9 NM from the runway.
6. Thrust levers were at idle which suggests malfunction or disconnect when black box data indicates takeoff thrust was engaged.
7. No refueling source contamination was found on tested fuel.
8. The flap setting (5°) and gear (DOWN) were appropriate for the takeoff configuration.
9. There were no reports of bird activity or weather concerns as skies were clear with good visibility and light winds.
10. Pilot credentials are clear as both are medically fit and rested with sufficient type-rated experience.
11. No immediate evidence of sabotage was found, however, an FAA advisory regarding a fuel switch flaw was known and inspections were not conducted by Air India.
12. Aircraft was within aircraft weight and balance limits and confirmed no dangerous goods onboard.
