The court order says retired judge Bruce C. Bennett has been assigned to take over Judge White’s docket in her absence. The order says Bennet "is hereby assigned as judge pro tempore of Division 'J.'"

ETA: and my guess this will have to do with ordering defendants to use a specific monitoring service owned by one of her campaign contributiors

i mean

for her sake, i HOPE this is the worst of it. when these investigations start, who knows what gets discovered

Baton Rouge and Louisiana would be better off if Trudy White never came back.

I've hated her since the Beauregard Town home invasion and murder case. Her corruption has put her on a lot of people's radar lately.

You don't usually need radar to pick her out of a crowd.

wtf kinda sentence is that? How could anyone in her position hand down that "punishment" with no repercussion?

I don't think this was a sentence. The DA dismissed the charge, so the judge had no authority to impose a sentence. So instead of saying "goodbye, have a nice day, please stop being a criminal" she told him to be kind.

With Trudy White & Janice Clark both sitting on the bench, people on the streets have no idea just how bad La.'s judicial system really is. Both are almost clown like in running their courts, but sadly, the cases they screw up are often serious ones with serious consequences. But if you think White & Clark are bad, take a stroll into any of N.O.'s Civil District Court hearings & you will really get a wake up call.

Hearing this is just due to a medical leave of absence.

I believe this is due to her sending every ankle monitoring case to one specific monitoring service that charges 2x more than the others.

Can you say kick backs?
