Why would you hate the whole city over this? You point out yourself that the city's citizens didn't consent.
I hear people saying they will boycott the city over the monuments issue. I don't understand the thought process behind that. First of all, half of them probably don't go to the city that much anyway. Additionally, why try to intentionally hurt businesses which do not support the issue?
I dont hate the city...I just hate the pandering asshat in charge. .

t is not a fair ruling. the "Jude" knows there is a bill in congress about the statures...... IF he was fair he would suspend any removal efforts and allow Congress to decide.
From what I read, this was not the issue. The issue was ownership of the land and statue as I understood the filing.

yes... it's all over who owns that particular spot of land where the Beauregard statue is
esp. since, according to the Monument Task Force, the Historical Society paperwork lists it as being on private property

That has absolutely nothing to do with the basis of the suit, nor can he consider that.

I'm not shocked there are drugs in OPP, I am surprised there is so much quantity available that someone could od on coke.

Did the citizens elect Mitch as their mayor? The only way politicians will be held responsible for their actions is when it hurts the pocket book of those with influence.

I must have missed the parts of his campaign platform where he indicated he was going to focus his energies ridiculous stunts like removing 140 year old statues.

So the judge denied the injunction request even though the paperwork showed the statue and land was privately owned?

Beauregard and Lee are both registered with the NPS as National Historic Sites. Until the city applies for historic status removal, I don't see how they can be taken down.
The U.S. dept of Interior as well as the LA Dept. of Culture, Recreation & Tourism may have to get involved. One letter is all it would take.

I don't think I've hated a political figure in my life as much as Mitch.
Yes, more than Hillary even.

is it ordinary for a judge to stamp the order 4 times?
(this was from Monday)

First one is for Fairness. Next 3 are symbolic for the number of statues.

By all means stay away, we don't want you or any of you people that don't even live here trying to tell us what should ne done.
Also, you realize that taking the statue away doesn't erase history, right? The Civil War still happened, we're just choosing not to display figures that fought to keep people as slaves and to leave this great country called the USA that I am proud as hell to live in.
