That is absurd for a ring unless he’s making millions. Geez.

Maybe he's on the Drew Brees investment plan, which would explain his sense of urgency in wanting the ring back.

Totally agree with your reasoning.

I’d bet you a six pack she has already sold it.
With the resale value of diamonds I’d bet she got $10-15 K for it.

This to me is the most hilarious part of the entire article.

this shite really does need to go to court and the supreme court if need be

a wedding/engagement ring isnt a gift, its a contract and if you void the contract then you have to return any and all proceeds of that contract (the rings)

she figured the ring was worth as much as she would get in the divorce so why get married, just take the money and run. shite like this needs to be corrected.

Is it an engagement ring if he never actually proposed?

Regardless, no way would I keep it. If some old dude doesn’t want to marry me, he can have all of his shite back.

It is a conditional gift (engagement ring). The condition is if they get married. No marriage means she has to give the ring back if he wants it back. Once married, the ring belongs to her. There is a case on this. I don’t think he just gave her the wedding ring either before they got married. Nobody does that and no one would believe her that he made an unconditional gift to her of the wedding ring before the marriage. What doesn’t make sense is that why he would he just let her hold onto the wedding ring before the ceremony? You naturally don’t give the ring to your spouse until the ceremony.

As for all the other shite, he is out of luck IMO without more facts/testimony for me to go on.

He has been practicing about 33 years. Even just a modest 10% savings rate and he's sitting on $1 million in reserve, probably twice that if you count retirement savings, plus a pension and SS.

He ain't sweating $62k if the pussy is right, baw.

Rouge bets that it was appraised at $62K and he paid more like $15K for it.

She obviously called his bluff thinking he wouldn’t put this out there in the public domain. Unfortunately, she’s got way more to lose than he does at this point in their collective careers.

She’s looking at multiple decades appearing before judges he knows, will know, rubbed elbows with, or that have heard and read through the facts of this case. Her reputation moving forward will be obliterated.

At the end of a 33 year career of his own and already on the bench...what’s he got to lose?

Even smart folks can end up being pretty dumb.

After seeing the size (2.17 ct), he super overpaid for it. You can get a perfect stone of that size/shape for $20-30k.

LINK

That setting wouldn’t be more than $3k. He should be pissed he paid so much.
