Jon Stewart is the voice of reason again - re: Spotify Rogan

Business Insider Article
Twitter Video
Video has more than just what was quoted in the article. He also points out the hypocrisy of actors who have shows on cable TV, and cable TV has cable news which spreads lies, intentionally. So are these shows gonna be pulled from cable TV?
I hope he goes on Colbert again and makes similar points.
Twitter Video
quote:
The comedian Jon Stewart said he thinks it's a "mistake" for musicians to pull their music from Spotify in protest of Joe Rogan, calling it an "overreaction."
"There's no question that there is egregious misinformation that's purposeful and hateful, and that being moderated is a credit to the platforms that run them," Stewart said. "But this overreaction to Rogan, I think, is a mistake."
Stewart said that he did not view Rogan as an "ideologue" and that Rogan appeared to be someone who could be engaged with, calling rhetoric about the comedian turned podcaster "overblown."
"Don't leave. Don't abandon. Don't censor. Engage," Stewart said, adding later, "I think there are dishonest bad actors in the world and identifying those is so much more important to me."

When Jon Stewart and Bill Maher start making sense, it’s time to drown ourselves in a Waffle House toilet

How about.
I have an opinion on a topic, and you have a different opinion on that topic, and we both agree to disagree
Why can’t this be the way of the world anymore? We were such a better society when people could go through life making their own judgement calls but also being tolerant of others ideals.
This country has gone soft.

I'm becoming more and more convinced by the day that Jon Stewart didn't voluntarily retire. All these late night hosts (save for Maher) all started becoming Woke around 2014/2015 and serving their corporate overlords to extreme sickening degrees. They are whores with no principles. There is no way in hell that Stewart would have ever done The Vax-Scene that Colbert did.
Jon Stewart though is a man of moral principles. Jon is an open fan of Project Veritas, which his corporate overlords certainly hate. He also said that Trump was the best President ever to 9/11 victims and unlike the other Presidents did everything that the survivors asked of him. There's no way in hell save for saying Trump is good at giving nicknames that any of his former Daily Show apprentices would give Trump credit on anything.
I'm thinking when Jon wouldn't play ball with the executives at Viacom anymore that they forced him to retire. Jon Stewart is a good person. I don't think any of his former apprentices (save for maybe Ed Helms, Rob Riggle, and Steve Carrell since they're not all that political) are good people and will sell you out for anything.

It's the whole Western world moving that way and I attribute it to social media.

Stopped reading right here. I could have stopped after "comedian Jon Stewart," but my curiosity got the better of me.

As much as he won't like to admit it, Jon Stewart bears a lot of blame for the current divide we find ourselves in. He pushed divisive rhetoric for years and, when called out on it, he always said "oh I'm just a comedy show".
He may now be a "voice of reason" but deep down, he's your run of the mill progressive

I mean he isn’t wrong there are some real nut jobs on YouTube and other platforms that spread some crazy misinformation that can be harmful and I’m not talking about anything Covid related. Many of my fellow right leaning people have become so jaded by the far left misusing terms like misinformation that we can’t even allow their use in a legitimate way.

/r/Conservative is a great place to get conservative conversation without the insane loons TD poli board attracts. For the most part, no people yelling "VACCINE HAS 5G!"

The thing is Jon knew what he was doing when hosting the Daily Show. He knew where the line was and what not to cross. But Jon is like a Jedi whose pupils all turned into Sith. I think even to this day that Jon has good intentions, but I do not believe that about the rest of his underlings. They'll do or say literally anything their corporate overlords tell them to for the cash.

Yeah, reddit is a well known bastion of moderate conservative conversation

Reddit as a whole is trash. /r/Conservative is great.

Sorry, I do not trust any of these so called celebrities who supposedly are seeing the light. Even disappointed with Rogan bowing down to placement of warnings on "controversial" topics on Spotify. Hmmm, don't remember seeing those warnings on MSM. Do not fall for it people.
