Last night my teenager said he was interested in becoming a doctor. Held my reaction just as I would for any other stupid proposal which might be a passing fad. Going to research what trajectory would still give him a fighting chance at something else. Being a doctor still pays but it looks to be they get hooked into these megacorp hospital systems, utter misery & all the DEI. Also wonder with AI what the profession looks like in 10 to 15 years. Bad choice... this seems to show their evil crap may help him dodge a bullet

There are actual doctors here who hopefully will answer...but there are still legislative barriers to overcome before AI can be totally unleashed without a doctor/surgeon,etc.
I think if you're a general practitioner you may be in for. All these pop-up clinics at Amazon, CVS, Walgreens, etc. are going to be utilizing AI as much as possible. All the common illness visits that might get one in the door to a doctor are going to go away and younger generations are much more open to a completely digital experience.
The other factor is cost as our current Healthcare system is unsustainable as it currently stands. The boomers are nearly going to outnumber the taxpayers and the welfare state is a ponzi scheme waiting to collapse as birth rates continue to plummet and the tax base shrinks. I'm guessing the hordes of illegal crossings are connected to that.
We also can't keep spending the money we do and a cheap/quick AI-based Healthcare option could be pivotal in reducing costs for the population.
All the illegal immigrants going into emergency rooms for the common cold and simple checkups...while your visit as a citizen costs tens of thousands and the illegal never pays a dime. It's unsustainable, someone is paying the costs, either the citizen/taxpayer individually or the government prints the money to pay and causes inflation which...effects the taxpayer.
People cant keep sitting by and tell themselves these issues will always be like years past (boomers are king of assuming the issues of their time will always be the issues of everyone else going forward to the same degree they experienced it), but that's not true at all. Society is at an inflection point. Boomers have taken their 401ks and checked out and left everyone else with the mess they made.

Agree. Let them destroy themselves. They are devaluing the Hopkins degree because they are no longer admitting the most qualified candidates. This means average universities that don’t discriminate will have more value to their degree. This will eventually destroy elite school’s brand. Liberalism is like acid, it erodes from within. Check out Chicago and Oakland and Baltimore as clear examples.
Elites are eroding the value of their own product in the name of diversity. Businesses are not going to value these degrees as much. Ruth’s Chris would not serve ham n’ cheese loaf and hope to keep up their brand. It is crazy.
