On Wednesday, the expansive Livingston Parish property once owned by actor John Schneider was auctioned off by the sheriff's office.
Schneider's land, including his home, office and sound stages, was seized late last year after he failed to pay his mortgage. Court documents said the 'Dukes of Hazzard' star owed nearly a quarter of a million dollars.
The buyer, a private citizen, bought up the property for $385,000. Schneider’s business partner told WBRZ that “moveable” items like temporary buildings, trailers and editing suites will not be included in the sale since Schneider does not own those buildings, they are being leased.
Schneider told WBRZ earlier this week he hoped the property would be purchased by someone who plans to maintain its independent movie studio.
“I feel this place has value because of what I see in it. If you build it, they will come. I have built it. They are coming,” said Schneider, referring to movie crews.

Sounds like a plan to get the property out of Schneider's name while still giving him full access.

Yes. This is exactly what sherrifs auctions are for.

Don't be dense.
1. Have wealthy friends
2. Get wealthy friends to bid on property
3. ????
4. Profit

Good for, John. Seems like a good guy who got caught in a messy situation. Wish him the best.

Maybe Ferrachi can get a movie made about the time he and I and Timmy V absconded with the Ronald-McDonald-mobile and took it for a high-speed spin through the best-groomed yards of Baton Rouge.

I mean, really.. He's a good old boy. Never meaning no harm.
My guess is things went down like this:
Suddenly, the Sheriff shows up to seize the studio.
Waylon Jennings voiceover over freeze frame: "Now, I wonder how them Duke boys are gonna get out of this one..."
The episode ends at the courthouse with the Capital City Produce guy showing up to buy it.
