John DuPont Foxcatcher Farms Absurdity

Was watching this video on the DuPont nutcase that murdered wrestler Dave Schultz. The story is so absurd that the narrator loses his composure while reading the dialogue. I don’t know why but I found this hilarious.
Around the 23:10 mark he starts talking about DuPont acting like a cop around town then breaks into laughing and dropping F bombs. He loses it again when narrating the part about DuPont’s tank he would drive around his property.

DuPont family helped build America by arming it. Sadly they did not want the money to leave the family so there was much inbreeding. Some of the most inbred places I have been in the US are not in the South, they are in the North where entire communities are folks inbred by trust fund marriages.
The reason most US corporations are legally HQ'd in Delaware is the lasting legacy of the DuPont family setting the early laws in the state.
Oddly, by the early 1900's many DuPont's were out of DuPont but were the largest shareholders of one of the Big 3 auto companies. DuPont had been controlled by a Canadian dynastic family that made a fortune bootlegging booze during Prohibition.

That video talks about all the inbreeding. I had forgotten that detail about this fricked up family.

Watching Michael Scott play the homo in that movie about the DuPonts burned a hole in my retina.

It was GM owned by DuPont. Anti Trust busted up the company after WWI into Hercules and DuPont, with divestment of GM. The entire family is still wealthier than the Waltons of WalMart.
Bronfman (Seagrams) family got control of DuPont in 1980's when it bought Conoco. The Bronfman's speculated on Conoco stock and in the stock swap ended up with more shares in DuPont than the DuPont family.
DuPont was the world's largest chemical company followed by Monsanto then Union Carbide. Dow was in maybe 5th place.
Only one of DuPont's plants was ever union. This was in West Virginia. Employees were paid more than all other chemical companies. They had 100% medical insurance as well. Retirement plan was basically make the same as when employed fulltime.

The DuPont movie with Steve Carrell and Channing Tatum is creepy

What was sad was the local PD knew about his antics. The town was well aware he was nuts, but since he gave the PD access to his shooting range and a helicopter, they chose to ignore it.
The farm was amazing, now it’s home to a private high school and luxury homes.

The farms and DuPont grounds are beautiful.
I visited as a DuPont employee several years ago.

One of the grandsons raped his 3 year old daughter in the 2000s and ended up only getting probation. Delaware AG at the time was none other than Beau Biden

He didn’t have kids, so it wasn’t his grandson.

There was an asylum in Delaware just for the DuPonts. Too much inbreeding- they didn’t want to share the wealth.

“He wouldn’t fare well in prison” was what the judge said I believe.
Different justice system for the rich.

Was it another member of the family’s grandson? This family makes the Murdauh’s look like saints.

No idea, but I think John had several siblings and I’m sure cousins as well. I’m sure there are quite a few DuPont’s around.

What kind of documentary is this? He must have assumed that at this point, nobody is watching or listening.

Yes, he was heir to their fortune. Crazy how money will let you get away with child rape

no matter your politics, the Biden family has always been scummy (along with plenty of shady stuff from the Trumps, don't get your panties in a wad.) but I feel like Beau gets a pass on a lot of stuff because he died. It's almost like he's a bit untouchable when i'm sure he did some really bad stuff like this.
quote:
"This was not a strong case, and a loss at trial was a distinct possibility," Biden wrote in a letter submitted to The News Journal.
Biden also defended Superior Court Judge Jan Jurden, who noted in her sentencing order that the wealthy father "will not fare well" in prison. Biden said the judge "exercised sound discretion based solely on the merits of the case before her" and doesn't allow a defendant's "wealth or social status" to influence her decisions.
Jurden has been criticized and has been the subject of threats because she gave Robert H. Richards IV probation after he admitted to fourth-degree rape of his daughter. Jurden's 2009 ruling followed recommendations from Biden's office. Much of the ire against Jurden stems from her notation in her sentencing order about Richards' fitness for prison, which she listed as a mitigating factor.
also the fact that his widow immediately started dating and sleeping with his brother is a giant red flag.
