On second thought, Blanco wasn't shite, she was just completely unprepared for Katrina. Anyone would have been though and she just had bad luck with that being her first term.

Jindal thought he could make a run for POTUS.
JBE knows his time in state politics is over so he's trying to set himself up for a Senate run (vs. Kennedy) or some kind of position in the DNC. That's why he has shed the façade of being a "moderate" Democrat (which bozo conservatives still think exist)
On the one hand I'd love to see JBE get appointed to the cabinet or some other spot to take him out of the governor's mansion early. But then we'd be left with useless Billy Nungesser at Gov. and the inside track to be "re-elected" in 2023.

Jindal was terrible and only cared about Washington DC in his 2nd term, but I think he would have shined had he been governor during Katrina. He could spit out facts like no other during press conferences and probably pushed the feds to do a better job. Blanco was just lost and had no clue what she was doing.
