Anyone that lives in a house like he has and claims to be a Christian is absolutely full of shite. Any preacher or minister that lives in a home like that is a con man who deserves to be living in a prison cell.

I dont think so. I have listened to his shite a few times... Im not gonna lie, he is a very good speaker and for those that need to hear what he says it probably works really well. Im not religious but I dont think there is anything wrong with what he says and I think overall he is helping people to be better citizens of the world. If that affords him a huge house, sexy wife, and alot of money, more power to him. he is obviously very good at what he does. If not, people wouldnt gravitate toward him.

Does the state of Texas not have pre-selected sites for emergency response evacuees? An operation that size would require a ridiculous amount of logistics -- water, food, security, cots, medical personnel, supplies, special needs assistance, etc. Did the state or city approach him and offer him compensation for the damage that will happen to his site from said people? Pretty sure, regular private insurance would not cover that...
This smells like a manufactured narrative. And I couldnt care less about "Pastor Joel."
Sounds bad without actually using critical thought. It seems a story to stir self righteousness, probably from some 'Christians are all hypocrites' agenda.

Osteen’s church canceled services Sunday, saying the building was inaccessible due to flooding, and directed worshipers to a variety of relief services. The pastor and his wife live in a $10.5 million mansion in the River Oaks neighborhood, where residents and their dogs were rescued from the rising waters, although it’s not clear whether Osteen’s home suffered any damage. A photo posted early Sunday morning showed heavy flooding about a block away from Lakewood Church, but Osteen’s critics urged him to open the doors to nearby flood victims.

Obviously people are going to hate on the guy because of

and it may be warranted, but from the article the church seems inaccessible.

Like I said earlier, there could be a reasonable explanation for why he isn't opening the doors. It'd be great if he came out to say so instead of just blocking people who are calling him out.

And I agree with you but the problem is you can’t claim to be a religious leader and live a life of extravagance while others suffer. It goes against everything Jesus taught...

Joel Osteen is a fraud and almost every legitimate church pastor knows this. He doesn't preach biblical teachings and is more about happiness which appeals to slow adults everywhere.

I don’t give a shite if rich people give of a penny of their money but someone who claims to be a religious leader in the community, lives in a 10 million dollar mansion and has a facility that can house thousands sure as shite is a hypocrite if they don’t help. The good news is he finally changed his tune and is doing the right thing because his rep was taking a beating.

The difference is Joel Osteen gets his money tax free.
