Coming to post the same GIF...

He had that smug look on his face till Everett stood up...
Only time I've ever respected him..

Rome ripping on adults wearing Halloween costumes to work is still one of the funniest moments in the history of radio. Once upon a time he was great. I haven't listened in years though, so I don't know how relevant he still is.

He was in at the start of the constant coverage of sports and had a huge radio show. If I recall correctly, he also invested in horses and restaurants. That number is not surprising to me.

Just an opinion from someone who listened to the show a few dozen times, decades ago.
Jim doesn’t have a wide audience, most people tune in and can’t really follow what’s going on and they leave.
Jim has a very loyal audience who feel they belong to a secret club and that small audience consumes everything Rome puts out.
Plus, maintaining ownership of his program was a great move for him.
I don’t like him or his show but good for him for finding something that works.

This blows my mind that a no talent arse clown can make this much in such a competitive industry.

Guys like Rome and Ferrall are the reason little guys like Moscona even have air time on a local show.

Late 90's he would say his radio show is like beer. You didn't like it the first time you tried it but give it a week. I haven't listened since they stopped using a fax machine.

Rome loves him some Wisconsin Northwoods. He's got a place up there.

How does this happen? Or is he that good at his craft and I just can't see it?
Just because you disagree with him and don't like, doesn't mean the guy isn't good at his job.

Maybe he invested his early year's earnings into things like Apple or Amazon and didn’t blow it on fast cars and boats.

Doesn’t this mean that he was big at one time and didn’t spend it on gold chains…..but invested smartly.
I can see him doing that.
