Back to top Posted on 10/21/24 at 7:27 am to PurpleandGold Motown I live for now in a extremely Jewish suburb of New York (the local rabbi lives two doors down, great guy!, huge college football fan!) and no-one that I have spoken to has said they are overly panicked or afraid of conducting day to day business. What you describe seems a bit overly cautious to me.
Have you read nothing at all about Columbia University?

me?
No. But it comes up. especially on conservative campuses and in conservative states where people ask where you go to church, ask you to pray with them and 60% of the decent schools are christian.

ETA: computer has a mind of its own
don't ever recall in four years at LSU of anyone inquiring as to my religious persuasion, probably assumed I was a hopeless heathen

well I have been here 34 years and it comes up. and i’m not saying it’s terrible at all. I’ve had very few bad experiences because of my religion. and 99% of that was in HS because it was an all boys catholic school, you’re gonna get made fun of for something.
You never dated? Kinda hard to have a serious relationship ship without that coming up.

think this is a good idea.
The priority for state public schools should be educating in state graduates not maximizing tuition revenue with outstate students.
Most people have no idea how difficult it is to get into places like UNC, UGA, UF, FSU or Texas instate. Due to county quotas at some places you need a near Ivy League resume just to get accepted now at top public schools.

had about this much impact
we had 3-4 Jewish guys in our frat, it just wasn't a thing, Catholic, Baptist, nobody gave it much thought

Tulane says “Hold my Manischewitz.”

I really liked the county quotas at UVa, you ended up with a student body that represented the state.

The people who endowed Newcomb as a separate Women's College must be smiling, subtly.

Communism / Marxism is a Jewish movement.
The Bolshevik revolution in Russia was essentially a Jewish minority coup.
The horrors of said ideology are obviously stifled in America because the people in charge of education don’t want you to know what the end goal is all about.

According to him, the kids love it because being a "Jew" isn't really a thing in the south. They're just another student.
And as long as they don't complain about “Merry Christmas “ or when someone says grace at a public meal, it'll stay that way.

100 percent true. My son is at LSU now and he has several Jewish friends and they are treated no different by anyone - as it should be.
