And this sucks. They're a decent sub chain.

Is there some bigger ploy at play?

What financial advantage does Blackstone gain from acquiring a chain for $billions and running it into the ground?

Someone else mentioned firehouse--my wife loves it too--it's just too thin and sweet or something.

They use honey ham, so any sub with ham will be sweet..... crazy to me.

Blackstone will then acquire the land or buildings these Jersey Mikes and raise the lease.

Then they'll not really care if the buildings sit empty for years since it's such a drop in the bucket for them while tons of mom and pops places can't afford rent. .

and hire lobbyists/publicists to blame high real estate prices on any laws that may actually help some smaller businesses.

End rant from someone who rents retail space.

Damnit they are just hitting their stride and expanding like crazy. Was the best alternative to Starbucks too.

Either of those two, or hell, both. I'll take a grilled Blimpie's best or a 5 meat stack with a cup of soup any day.

Private equity can get fricked. They destroy companies.

All of the sub-sandwich chains are trash. The bread, the meat, and even the vegetables are all processed for longevity.

Maybe they have your favorite sauce, or your favorite peppers, or whatever it is that keeps people coming through the doors. Maybe they have a loyalty program that makes you feel like you’re getting a great deal. Whatever the reason may be, it doesn’t take away from the over-priced and underwhelming sandwich.

A sandwich.

A sandwich you could make at home or even on-the-go. In fact, you could make a better sandwich with better ingredients for less money.

Stop giving these bitch arse sandwich chains your money. ESPECIALLY if you’re from down here.

A strange melt from you is akin to a cock your Mom hasn’t tasted.

Most Jersey mikes are not standalone operations. Most inline in strip centers so no way for them to control any real estate.
